News
Our News section has served to host many a backpatting or apologetic post, and it's doubtful that will change any time soon.

I think the title says it all. We have a brand new Multitap but I'm far too tired to polish it up right now. Consider this a placeholder where you can <WITTY_QUIP> or <SMARTASS_COMMENT> until my lazy ass wakes up. Until then, <INSULT> me.
Normal updates will resume shortly. In other news, we are looking for contributors with a unique voice and opinion on gaming in the here and now. If interested, please contact us.
You think this update was neglected? You should see my apartment.
Not much of an update today I'm afraid. Both societal and political pressures came to a front and have left me stranded on an island of work and obligations. You can amuse yourself though by checking out this (old, but new to me!) c64 homage video/parody of boy bands by Press Play On Tape. Remember Comic Bakery? I thought you might. Enjoy.
What could make Thanksgiving better than an announcement about Ico 2?
The latest Chi-Drunksaling will go up mid-Thursday, for the curious. Meanwhile, please enjoy this teaser photo! And I swear that the lack of a Wednesday update has nothing to do with exhaustion, free movie tickets or E3 updates.
Our friend Geoff (or gfunk) has been getting his write on with killpoetry.org for a little over a month now. Up until this point only myself and his wife have been visiting, but he got farked so maybe that's going to turn around. Good for Geoff.
Fans of DG might remember when forum fixture Neato Burrito created a thread where he took orders from all those willing and photographed their requests. Well, now he's at it again, only as a regular feature for the New Site. Got some ideas on how he should humiliate himself? E-mail me here and I'll pass your requests along. Be creative: he's got nothing better to do.
You all know that the only non-site related news we post is that concerning the brilliant Ico. Well, mee Ronn and I think we have the goods on what's going down.
On March 3rd, 2003 thenewsite launched, changing the world of roughly four or five people. In this special news update I get a little tipsy, slur my words and get a bit misty!
In case you noticed, it's been a rather lackluster week for updates. As in, there haven't been any. There's a reason - my time has been spent elsewhere. On something big. And yes, it's related to this site and not to my affection for sleep. Newsletter subscribers will find out why on Monday though, so if you're as curious as a cat you might want to sign on up using the little input field over to your right.
Those with eagle eyes will notice something different. I'm not wearing cargo pants. Also, you might detect a slew of new names. They aren't really new. They're the same people that you've been ignoring for months now! Click through, match the names with the faces and win big prizes, such as a walk through the history of The New Gamer, and insight into our tapeworm-riddled minds!
Err, hello. We're back from vacation. Just wanted to let you know. Hmm ... I should take a shower. Oh yeah, I remember now what I wanted to tell you - I'm posting another drunksaling tonight. Yeah. Ok bye.
Gone Fishin': No Friday update today. Stay tuned for a special weekend post.
As you can see by the new graphic in the navigation, the forums are go. Featuring a custom Movable Type plugin, all of our articles are crossposted and comments are tied to the detailed article pages. Oh yeah, and it's a forum where all sorts of gaming conversing go! I'll be modifying a few things here and there, but pop on by and let us know what you think!
After more than several days of torment, The New Gamer has finally been migrated to its brand-new server. Good times.
If you have any problems or concerns, feel free to contact me at webmaster@thenewgamer.com. Because it's hot!
Look here! We have just launched our very own newsletter! Using bleeding-edge technology, each week we will send out an email with the latest article info, mindless rambing, links to unpublished works and all sorts of keen materials that typically never see the light of day. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and sign up!
As you can see, the teaser is gone and replaced with ...this. We're still tweaking and modifying bits and pieces here and there, working out a few issues. Content coming as soon as someone posts it.
The time of missing updates are about to pass - expect big changes tomorrow. Our newsletter subscribers already know what's going on, so what are you waiting for?
Have we been slacking? You bet! Have you noticed? Doubtful. Anywho, late tonight a new Multitap is going up and tomorrow we play catch up - that's right, two drunksalings this week for the low price of one! There's other silliness in the works, but I'm not at liberty to divulge that at this time.
Also, anyone know what's up with this Joey Greco fellow? I'm clueless (in more ways than one). I think something notorious wrote fired him up and possibly caused a worldwide epidemic, but don't quote me on that.
Refresh your browsers, empty your cache and enjoy the new look! Oh, and let me get back to playing some games. I miss them.
Friday Friday Friday! Sparse updates explained, right behind this link!
It's late late late Friday night and there's no Chi-Style Drunksaling. "What's up with that yo?" you might be asking. Due to a series of conflicts and misadventures, we're running a bit behind - expect it tomorrow - but that won't stop me from posting a high-resolution outtake! Those that received the newsletter earlier on Friday already received one - well, this is almost as enticing.
Those of your with higher ocular abilities might have noticed that we have changed our sidebar with recent gaming news linkage. No, this won't be your typical "OMG JAK 2 WENT GOLD!!!11!!" news, it'll fit the normal obscure and niche filler that you have come to depend on us for. Plus it's all ripped straight from my own personal linkage barrel so you know it won't be filled with crud about the latest Madden game. Enjoy!
As you may have noticed, we've changed. Quite a bit. thenewsite has now been retired in favor for this. Gone are the lack of updates on books or television. The New Gamer will be focused around critical dissection and discussion of gaming and gaming culture. And that's all. Yep. We're still tweaking the site, working on the site tree, porting over relevant articles from thenewsite blahblahblah. But that's besides the point. Enjoy.
Our comprehensive coverage of retrospective week continues with this, an interview on our amazing accomplishments as editors of thenewsite. What amazing accomplishments, you say? Well, we have a post up on time. Incredible, yes?
