I'm a big fan of video games. I'm also a huge music fan, especially of the electronic variety. When I combine the two like some deliciously perverted concoction, I get video game music remixes! Occasionally I take a short and sexy look at a fine video game remixes, hand-plucked from the cruft .

This week's remix: Saskrotch - Nintendo Breakz Volume One

Before I begin, I'd like to take this moment to thank forumgoer Jman for sending this link my way!

With Nintendo Breakz Volume One, Saskrotch has introduced our friend the NES software collection to breakcore with scratchy, grimey, chewy, yummy results. Nintendo Breakz Volume One is a collection of 39 NES tracks, all of which clock in under a minute and all of which feature a single NES theme each (sampled, not created anew,) cut up, chewed up, beat up and distorted with varying amounts of texture and snares sprinkled on the processed crust. If you enjoyed A Scholar & a Physician's remix of Super Mario Brothers, you will be all about this; the action isn't as frentic, but it is as engaging. Plus with this many memorable tunes, ranging from River City Ransom to Adventures of Lolo as well as Skate or Die 2 , even Little Nemo , you will definitely find something to fill that 8-bit shaped hole in your heart.

Just bear one thing in mind - the zip file containing all of these tracks weighs in at a hefty 30MB. Those of you on dial-up may want to let it download while you're sleeping, holding your koopa plushie tight.
