Top Five Comfort Games

Read 'Top Five Comfort Games'

Like food, games can provide comfort in a time of need - be it a need for something familiar or just a quick pick-me-up after a particularly distressing day. Here's a list of my current favorite stick-to-your-ribs games ...

Drunksaling Wash-Out

Read 'Drunksaling Wash-Out'

Earlier this month I was marveling over the fact that this year, despite some menacing skies, we never had an entire garage sale Saturday called on account of weather. Well, this weekend Mother Nature had other plans...

Estradasphere on Tour, Zelda Cover Discovered

Read 'Estradasphere on Tour, Zelda Cover Discovered'

While scrolling through tourb.us's upcoming Chicago show list, I saw a familiar name pop up right before my bleary eyes: Estradasphere is coming to town!

Episodic Disappointment

Read 'Episodic Disappointment'

Dedicated readers know that I'm a pretty big fan of Bone, the comic as well as Telltale Games' initial foray into episodic gaming. However, for some time it seemed as if the only news coming from Telltale's camp was concerning work on their upcoming Sam & Max game...

Wii All Dance?

Read 'Wii All Dance?'

I didn't find anything all too surprising about Nintendo's press announcement today, at least not until I went and saw their announced game list...

Okami: Paintboards & Posters

Read 'Okami: Paintboards & Posters'

While checking online prices for next week's release of Capcom's Okami, I saw that when you pre-order, you get a swell paintboard! Sure, its very presence causes more 'why isn't this on the DS again?' head-scratching, but...

GameTap: Day 15

Read 'GameTap: Day 15'

Last night I spent more time with GameTap than I intended, allotting several precious hours to play through its varied games. Sadly, those were hours that were previously earmarked for projects that allow me to pay for its services...

GameTap: Day One

Read 'GameTap: Day One'

On paper it looks great: $9.95 a month and you can play over 600 classic (and recent) video games from a grand assortment of consoles and computers om your own desktop computer. But how great it sounds, I've been skeptical of GameTap ever since it was announced...

Idle Investigation

I received a bit of a surprised I booted up Tomb Raider: Legend for the first time this week...

Trumpy Bot

Read 'Trumpy Bot'

Oh Steambot Chronicles/Bumpy Trot. The idea of a free-roaming game that's intended to relax you appeals to me, but its control scheme seems to fight that intention with all of its might. I think Mr. Riley put it best when he said it was "like playing Katamari Damacy with a rock." It's the only game in recent memory where I seemed to mangle the controls more and more with each passing minute...

Played to Death

Read 'Played to Death'

So I enjoy playing with the occasional LEGO brick or two in between sessions of making and playing video games... and usually the LEGO end up taking the form of a video game themselves. Some of those works have ended up on this site as journal entries (and some are yet to be seen... but soon) and others are still to be completed!

Anyway, if you head over to Played to Death you can find out a bit more about it all as they, for some reason, thought I was worth of an interview.

Check it out and tons more in their current issue (July 2006).
