Animal Crossing DS: I

January 20, 2006 By R. LeFeuvre

My home. I'm relaxing on my Modern Couch in my custom made Pac-Man treads (note the dots on the sleeve) playing some MSG3 on my Widescreen TV, having just finished my Katamari painting.

Damn that Blathers .. he won't display it in the museum.

Send me a link for that pattern!

Link?

I pretty much did it myself. I started with the image, resized it and constricted the pallete. After a bit of touch up, that's what I had. I don't really have anything on my PC to show for it though...

But, I can come over and put it on display in your Ables Sisters shop. Beyond having it on display, I also have it set as the scolling background in my pause menu.

I drew a second one, of the Prince jumping for joy.

Next patterns: River City Ransom!

Wait, you drew that larger before shrinking it to DS-size? What did you use and how did you do it?

All the preprocess was just done on my PC. I used this program a bit, but it was far less helpful that I had expected. The palletes don't match up with what is in the game, so it really only shrank the image, something Photoshop could do.

I just transfered, by hand, all the pixels, although, because of the palette issues, I changed a lot on the fly.

NES Sprites are a lot easier! They are already typically 32 x 32 and they have smaller palettes. Hence the shift to RCR :p

Can you just display it in your store and let me come buy it?

You could earn some good money that way.

Hrm. Yes, I guess that would work. Next time you are in town be sure to stop by. It's already on display!

It makes a much better picture than a shirt, though.
