I come to you in a time of great need.

March 24, 2005 By R. LeFeuvre

So I have this predicament. See, I'm the owner of a Sony credit card. Each purchase I make earns me Sony Points. Sony Points can then be used to buy Sony stuff. Hey, if you are going to earn something free with your credit card cool Sony Stuff is way better than free gas or frequent flyer miles. I've been saving for a while and I have a sizable amount to 'cash in'.

What I really need is a new CD Walkman (a nice one) and a DVD/VCR combo. Together it would totally clean me out of my saved up Sony Points but it's things that I could use but certainly can't afford.

But what I want to get is a Sony PSP. After using the points it would cost me like $50 + tax.

I'm not sure why I'm even asking you guys... who's going to tell me to get a boring DVD player and a Walkman. But I'll go for it anyway...

So what should I get?

God... I was gonna say walkman/DVD player. :(

I'm boring...

Heh. Be practical is so stuffy. I have a feeling that if I get anywhere near a place that actually has PSPs in stock I will be unable to stop myself.

My DS wants a buddy.

Out of curiosity, how much did you have to spend to get ~$350 worth of these "Sony points"? Don't these things usually work on like 1-3%?

EDIT: Also, how might I get one? My CD player's looking a little old... and the DVD player's been through its paces too.

You earn 1 point per dollar and 100 points basically reverts back to $1 (so yah 1%). You can also get extra points when you buy Sony stuff (you have to fill out a form and I'm bad at that sorta thing so I've never done it). You can apply here

I've been saving since I got the card like 4 years ago, and when I got it I had a nice job so I spent a lot. My total is somewhere in the low 20,000 so I can spend about $200. And since I'd just go down to the Sony Store at the Metreon to grab one it would only be $250 (it's not that uber pack with four games that you see all over the web).

I can be a total Sony whore at times... maybe this is the card for me. Might as well not let my excessive beer spending go to waste!

Got a link to the card application online? And do you get points for refering people?

Back on topic, I've made my decision:
