All the Silent Hill Endings, All Lined Up

May 31, 2006 By Glenn Turner

The ambitious site game-endings.co.uk, has an admirable purpose: to bring to the public a repository of video game endings so that, even if someone isn't patient enough to play through Eternal Darkness three times to receive the 'ultimate ending', they can still see what they missed out on.

Part of the beauty of this site is that it allows you to easily see all of the endings for games with a ridiculous number of closing acts, titles such as Silent Hill 2 which has no less than seven endings. Seven! I love Silent Hill 2, and granted, two are joke endings and one is from the 'Restless Dreams' Xbox version of the game, but there's no way I'd be able to see more than two endings without the aid of this site.

So, if you're a Silent Hill fan that isn't hardcore enough to spend hundreds of hours retrieving every ending in the series, help yourself to their wonderful bounty:

  • Silent Hill 1 - Four endings, and I swear that my copy of it kept skipping cinematics. Either that or I kept blacking out during cut-scenes.
  • Silent Hill 2 - Seven endings, and prior to this I had only seen the melancholy 'In Water' ending. It's still my favorite, but 'Leave' is touching as well.
  • Silent Hill 3 - Only three this time, and given that the game is so short (not to mention engrossing), this is probably one title where I could feasibly see each ending through some well-applied gumption.
  • Silent Hill 4 - Four endings, and no UFO ending. Really, once was more than enough for me.

Hooray, thank you.

The circumstances for some of the endings are rather silly.

awesome site. a definite step up from VGmuseum's meager static game end images. but i guess they deal more in quantity.

Neat. I never did see the wacky ending for Silent Hill 3...

Then you would've been missing out! The UFO ending for SH3 was one of the best.

I'm assuming they have the Silent Hill Song attached as well?

Yep, they've retained the credit crawl for all of the UFO endings.

I rather liked the SH2 UFO ending too, if for no other reason than the look on James' face when the alien shocked him.

Normally, I'd completly avoid sites like this, as I am a non-spoiling purist bastard. But honestly, I can only play through these games so many times without needing a 6 month break to try and forget some of it before trying again.

I think, for Silent HIll, I may break my chain of stubborness. Otherwise, I can always get a kick out of the other games they offer. Good stuff.

OMG!!! thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!I hadn't been able to get all the endings (not for lack of trying though ¬¬) but now I've seen them all. My fav SH is 2... so sad, melancholic... but they're great. Now I need to play SH: homecoming... UFO ending's made me LMAO, but thank god SH 4 didn't have... my IQ just couldn't resist one more hahaha. Great job!

in silent hill two its enough to just dont listen to the dialogue in the halway. i had the leaving ending, though i listened to the head phones, read the note, and examined the knife. The only conditions i avoided were being nice to mary (i hit her twice or three times) and listening to the complete dialogue. I even healed up pretty f
