9/9/05

September 9, 2005 By D. Riley

Since our illutrious webmaster didn't think it was worth his time, I feel that I should step up to the plate and claim my place in the sun. I would be remiss in letting this site go a year without its stern proclamation.

Today is September 9th, which marks the sixth birthday of the Dreamcast. Lo these many years I've went through four of the consoles and I've loved them all. From SNK to Cannonspike, from Soul Calibur to Guilty Gear, there's something for everyone where the Dreamcast is involved. Its vim is superceeded only by its vigor, and it's with only a mournful sigh that I let this day pass, for surely, nearly two generations later, the Dreamcast's day in the sun is long gone.

But fear not Dreamcast, you'll know me ever loyal. Despite Mr. Turner's procilivities toward hastily cobbled together PC adventure games that reek like foetid bile I shall find a love for you. Whilst others play their Halos and Battlefields, I'll attempt to conquer my Shemue (for about the 30th time). Barring that I'll sit on my derriere and play Mars Matrix for the three hundreth time.

You, me, and the Chu Chu Rocket game, that's all I need. Together, thus entwined, we'll be forever.

Pour a 40 out for your favorite system today.
