LinkUp is a recurring collection of off-beat game-related items of interest! If you'd like to submit a link for consideration, please contact us!

The Ten Video Games That Should Be Movies: Don't let the title fool you – this list isn't your standard 'games-to-film' rantfest. Matthew Perpetua, of music blog fame, penned it with Lane Brown and the humorous liberties they take with the games and directors are simply inspired. Wes Anderson turning Duck Hunt into a road trip dramedy? The Coen Brothers weaving their way down the Oregon Trail? I'd pay damn good money to see both efforts.

Victims of Science - The Device Has Been Modified: While Coulton's 'Still Alive' captures the twistedly whimsical side of Portal, Victims of Science have warped GLaDOS' words into a magnificently vindictive and engaging electro-pop tune. If only it were just a bit longer!

Dark Sector Zero: Dark Sector, best known for being one of the first announced next-gen console games, now has a comic book-based prelude to the game. I normally ignore these sort of efforts as they're often hastily cobbled together and barely readable, but this attempt is notable for one reason: Bill Sienkiewicz is illustrating it. Sienkiewicz is best known for his work with Frank Miller and the Elektra: Assassin mini-series (although I love him most for Stray Toasters) and I immediately become very interested whenever he's involved with a title since it'll at least be gorgeous. Don't take my word for it though – check out Dread Central's five-page preview.

Bridge - Turning Tricks: You don't have to be a fervent bridge player to enjoy this New Yorker piece on the card game. David Owen succinctly sums up the lavish history of bridge and discusses the recent difficulty ardent fans have had finding challenging opponents. It's a rich read, one that makes me wonder what other card-based games (standard deck or CCG) will be similarly spoken of in seventy or so years.
